Platan Hotel

Nice location in a suburban setting. 5 min walk to Spar and Tesco grocery stores. Walking distance to the motorcycle speedway stadium (the reason for my stay) but distant to the city, requiring a bus or taxi ride. The breakfast buffet, included in the room rate, is excellent, with hot and cold choices. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. Restaurant menu is relatively limited, but the food was very good and the salad fresh. Good wifi. High occupancy rate, a good sign. For a big city hotel, close to the airport, the value was good for the quality of accommodation. I had a ground floor room, accessed from indoors, with a window/door combo out to the parking lot. Very convenient for unpacking the motorcycle.

All was better than I expected! Great rooms, hotel employees extremely friendly and helpful. Food also excellent in restaurant, big thanks for man who was working there - great old school service. Receptionist was great as well, very friendly and welcoming guy. Room was spacious and cosy, bathroom as well, except shower, that was too small with annoying curtain. Hotel is friendly for huge dogs, we had 2 of them.

Location is great, if you don't care about the city center. But the center is easily approachable by local buses. I even walked to the airport terminal in 20 minutes. I strongly recommend to do this only if you've got just a backpack. The size of my room was amazing! It had a huge double bed, a sofa bed, a refrigerator, a desk with chairs, cabinets and a bathroom with a huge bath tub. Big advantage compared to other new design hotels that you actually can open the windows fully in order to get fresh air inside - loved that!! The staff in the breakfast area is nice, but sometimes they don't really realize that some food or cutlery is missing, etc but as soon as I asked for something they were happy to help immediately.

This was a decent hotel in the close proximity to the airport. We have arrived there in the afternoon and checked out at 4 am. There was a play ground just near the premises, the lady at the reception was kind to arrange crib for our 14 months old baby. There was a supermarkets just around the corner. We had a lovely dinner and the service was good and friendly. The room was clean.

We spent a week in Debrecen. As we were by car we did not mind to be a bit away from the center -- which was 10-15 min only, especially as this hotel had also a free parking lot. The hotel is very pleasant, good price for value. The staff is helpful and nice, and we actually were positively surprised by the quality of the breakfast and the selection and quality of the dinner we had there.
